You will win the weeknight dinner game with this delicious seasoned chicken drumstick recipe. I have used this same seasoning blend on chicken thighs and the whole chickens too. Leave the skin on for extra fats for your ketogenic diet.
This recipe is family friendly and quick. You can make this dish in under an hour. It pairs well with a side dish such as my Chinese Cauliflower Rice.
You will have extra seasonings. I count one gram of carbohydrates per chicken drumstick due to the spices. The baking powder is key here to help the drumsticks crisp up in the oven. Trust me on the cinnamon, it’s delicious!
12 Chicken drumsticks
1 ½ teaspoons of paprika
1 ½ teaspoons of cumin
1 ½ teaspoons of onion powder
1 ½ teaspoons of garlic powder
1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of pepper
2 teaspoons of baking powder
Pre heat the oven to 400 degrees. Place a baking rack on a rimmed baking sheet.
Measure the spices Into a large bowl and combine.
Toss the chicken drumsticks in the bowl with the seasonings until coated.
Place the chicken on top of the wire rack and place in the oven.
Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
Turn the broiler up for 2-5 minutes to help the chicken skin get crisper.
Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
